Islands - a constellation
“Ilhas - uma constelação” é um projecto de pesquisa e criação artística iniciado em 2020. Tem desenvolvido, maioritariamente, peças sonoras e performativas, fortemente influenciadas pela paisagem, geografia e identidade insular a par do imaginário da viagem.
É dirigido por Sara Anjo, bailarina e coreógrafa natural da Ilha da Madeira, que no seu trabalho desenvolve caminhadas enquanto prática artística experimental, peças sonoras a partir do conceito de "audio-coreografias" e peças performativas enquanto teatro sónico.
Este projecto tem também um foco num trabalho de residências realizado em ilhas. Nos últimos 2 anos foram feitas viagens às diferentes ilhas do arquipélago da Madeira, incluído as reservas naturais das Ilhas Desertas e Selvagens e aos Bijagós, o arquipélago da Guiné Bissau.
“Islands - a constellation” is a project of artistic research and creation that started in 2020 and develops sonic and performative pieces as well as experiences, strongly influenced by the insular identity, landscape and geography, togheter with the imagination of travelling.
It is devised by Sara Anjo, a dancer and choreographer from Madeira Island, who develops in her work: walking as an experimental artistic practice, sound pieces within the concept of "audio-choreographies" and performative work as sonic theatre.
This project also has a focus on artistic residencies carried out on islands. In the last 2 years, the different islands of the Madeira Archipelago were visited, including the nature reserves of Desertas and Selvagens Islands. And the Bijagós Archipelago in Guinea Bissau.
